Here are some of the current trends in Pakistani fashion dresses.
With every new season, we see our designers bringing something new for our wardrobes. Pakistani fashion dresses have gained an ever evolving quality for the past few years and we see women racing to keep their wardrobes up-to-date in accordance with the latest fashion. This year we see a lot of 60s and 70s fashion making a re-appearance in the market.

Anarkali Umbrella Frock dress: This frock has been named on the famous dancer “Anarkali”. It is usually worn with “churdar pajama” which is a skin tight extra long trouser and this season we also see skin fitted extra long sleeves along with this fashion. Usually bright colors are used for Anarkali umbrella frock and it is fitted from waist and hips while the bottom is flared like an umbrella frock. This dress looks amazing on casual get-togethers.

A-Line shirt: A Line Shirts are into Pakistani fashion since last year, A-line shirts with wide ‘daaman’ look more feminine and alluring and they are more into Pakistani Fashion trends this year with churidar pajama.

Panelled Shirt: Shirts with panels in different colors, prints and embroidery have also been included in Pakistani fashion dresses.  Panels are used in different style, some starting from shoulder, others in a triangular shape and yet others in various different styles. This trend can be used in various creative ways.

Straight-Loose kurtas: Fitted shirts are almost out of the scene in Pakistani fashion this year. Elegant loose Kurtas with “Shirwani collars” and round buttons are one of the most decent trends of the year. Light colors are adopted for summers like Tea Pink, summer blue, light yellow to give the kurtas a cool summer feel. Churidar Pajama are yet again combined with these.

Kaftan/Poncho: Ponchos are also a part of Pakistani Fashion dresses this year. Kaftan, in light and dark colors, with embroidery and hand prints, in chiffons and summer stuffs, is another extremely elegant fashion trend of the year. This is another trend for formal use.

Culotts: Loose trousers have still not gone out of fashion because of the extreme liking of women. And they will still be here in Pakistani fashion dresses for summer 2011.

Boat shaped necks: This is another old fashion which has been revived this year. Necks which are less in depth but more in width are called boat-shaped and we see this trend gaining acceptance in Pakistani fashion dresses this year. It looks graceful and stylish.

Let’s now have a look at some of the trends which are NOT “in” Pakistani Fashion.
Patiala: Patiala shalwars have completely disappeared from Pakistani fashion dresses. As long shirts came in, Patiala went out.

Short Shirts: Short shirts are also not IN any more. Whether it’s a Kurta, Frock or an A-line shirt, long lengths are what we are concerned with.

Short Sleeves: Long churidaar sleeves are IN now and short sleeves, sleeve less and half sleeves have gone out.

Fitted Kameez: Fitted shirts are replaced with loose frocks and Kurtas.
